West Ham will support Kalvin Phillips after fan incident – David Moyes

David Moyes says West Ham United will support Kalvin Phillips following an incident with a supporter after the defeat at Newcastle United on Saturday.
Phillips, 28, was filmed showing his middle finger to the fan after being called “useless” as he was boarding the team bus.
The England international had earlier been involved in a contentious penalty awarded against West Ham which helped spark the 4-3 comeback win for the hosts.
The club have declined to comment on the incident.
Moyes says West Ham will continue to help Phillips — who is on loan from Manchester City for the remainder of the season — and called on supporters to get behind him.
“Kalvin’s a human being and what he needs is support and people to help him, which is what we’ll do,” Moyes said. “We need our fans to give all our players the support they require.
“Kalvin’s a really good player and I do believe we can still make something out of the time we’ve got with him here.”
Seventh-placed West Ham face London rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday night but will do so without first-choice goalkeeper Alphonse Areola, who was forced off with injury at St James’ Park.
“Alphonse Areola has hurt his groin so at the moment it looks like he’s going to be out for a little bit,” he said. “We hope it’s not too serious but Lukasz Fabianski will come in.
“Nayef Aguerd’s trained today so we’ll see how he and everyone else is before tomorrow.”

West Ham’s Onana Pursuit Faces Price Tag Hurdle
